As Washington editor for Time.com, Ana Marie Cox hosts the Web site’s political blog, Swampland, with Time’s political team, and she is also responsible for coordinating Time.com’s political coverage. Additionally, Cox writes features and essays for both the print and online editions of Time.

Since joining Time as a contributing writer in March 2006, Cox has written stories about former Bush Press Secretary Tony Snow, Don Imus’ firing and fundraisers for the 2008 presidential election. She also covered the Scooter Libby trial for Time.com.

Prior to joining Time, Cox was the founding editor of the political blog, Wonkette, covering politics and policy, as well as Capitol Hill gossip. She has held positions at Mother Jones, The Chronicle of Higher Education and National Geographic. Her writing has also appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post and Wired.

Cox is the author of the novel “Dog Days,” a political satire of Washington. She graduated from the University of Chicago and lives in Washington with her husband, Congressional Quarterly editor Chris Lehmann.
